GENERAL ASSEMBLY - Banner Parade Wednesday, June 21

IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING GENERAL ASSEMBLY . . . The party is almost about to start, and we hope YOU will be a part of it. For those attending in person, the festivities kick off on Wed., June 21 with the Banner Parade and opening service. This is a rousing way to start this major event here in Pittsburgh!
Our UUPittsburgh contingent has been invited to lead the Banner Parade, which is a nice way to spotlight the Pittsburgh region and our cluster churches. So, please pay close attention to these important details:
-- Setup and lineup for the Parade happen outside the Exhibit Hall of the David Lawrence Convention Center where GA will be held. This starts at 5:30 p.m., with the actual parade kicking off at 5:50 p.m. (Staff and volunteers will be on hand to provide guidance.) If you wish, bring your church banners and poles.
-- Parade marchers must be registered GA attendees or registered spouses or kids. PLEASE be early, and tell any staff or volunteers that you are with one of the Pittsburgh cluster churches and should be at the head of the parade. Obviously, be polite and gentle if anyone asks why you are "getting ahead" of them in line.
-- Look for Ron and Caron from the Cluster Board. Both plan to wear bright gold Side with Love shirts, and many of you will know them. We don't need to be in any special order, but we want to proudly lead our many visitors through the Exhibit Hall and onto the Main Concourse before heading into the General Session Hall where the service will occur. (It will be led by Revs. Kate Walker and Jim Magaw from two of our Cluster churches.).
-- If you wish, you may pre-register your banner on Tuesday or Wednesday at the Volunteer Office so that you can leave it after the parade and it can be hung in the hall throughout the Assembly. You are not required to do this, but folks love to see all those colorful banners!
-- GA can feel a bit hectic, but focus on the spirit and good will and FUN! Look forward to seeing many of you for this major occasion! More than ever, we are stronger together!!!
