2017 UUs of Greater Pittsburgh Annual Assembly is November 4

Please join us on Saturday November 4 2017 for the Annual Assembly of the Unitarian Universalists of Greater Pittsburgh! This year we'll be back at the UU Church of the North Hills in Franklin Park. We've got some great speakers lined up as well as worship, music, a banner parade, and more. Plus collaboration workshops on areas like worship, social justice, religious education, and more.

As part of the ongoing national UU dialogue on racism and white supremacy, our morning speakers will offer reflections on their experiences. Rev. Deryck Tines will be with us to talk about Living with Racism and Oppression. And hopefully sing! Rev. Tines is a friend of the Allegheny UU Church congregation and the wider UU community. City of Asylum founder Henry Reese will speak about how City of Asylum has lifted up the voices of refugees, immigrants, and people of color.

In the afternoon, we have invited Rev. Renee Waun to tell us about her Life in Ministry. Rev. Waun, called minister at East Suburban UU Church, has had a fascinating journey and we are looking forward to hearing more about it. As she prepares to retire in 2018, it's also a opportunity to celebrate her many years of ministerial service not just at East Suburban but to the other congregations - Ligonier Valley, Ohio Valley, and Morgantown - where she has been a frequent Sunday speaker.
